Busy group chats
Summarize WhatsApp group chats without reading them
A group with forty people in it generates more messages than anyone can follow. DigestIt reads the ones you choose and writes you a single summary a day.
Only your chosen groups are read. Content is encrypted and deleted within 24 hours.
Why group chats stop working past a certain size
A group chat is a stream with no summary and no index. Miss a day and there is no way back in except scrolling — and scrolling is how you find the one message that mattered forty messages after it stopped mattering. Muting fixes the notifications and makes the problem worse, because now you are not reading it at all. The information is still in there. What is missing is anything that reads it for you.
What you get instead
- One message a day, summarising every group you follow
- Each group under its own heading, so you can skim to the one you care about
- Written in the language the group actually uses
- Topic filters per group, so a group can be narrowed to just what you asked for
- Delivered at a time you pick, in your own timezone
What happens to your messages
- Only the groups you choose are ever read
- Message content is encrypted and deleted within 24 hours
- Your digests are never stored
- Nothing is used to train an AI model
- Reply deletemydata to erase your account and everything in it
Questions
How many groups can I summarise?
Up to 35. One digest covers all of them, so following more groups does not cost more.
Does it work on groups I am only a member of?
Yes. You do not need to be an admin of a group to include it.
Will people in the group know?
No. Nothing is posted to the group and no one else sees your digest — it arrives in a private thread of your own.
Read your groups in a minute a day
Pick your groups, pick a time, and let the scrolling stop.
Setup takes a couple of minutes. No app to install.
