For parents
The class group has 300 messages and one of them matters
School parent groups are the clearest case for a digest: enormous volume, low signal, and a real cost to missing the one message about tomorrow morning.
Only your chosen groups are read. Content is encrypted and deleted within 24 hours.
You cannot mute it and you cannot read it
Leaving the class group is not an option, because that is where the trip forms, the costume days and the schedule changes get announced. Muting it means finding out at drop-off. Reading it means three hundred messages a day, most of them thumbs-up reactions and thank-yous, wrapped around the two sentences that needed a reply by Thursday.
What a parent's digest looks like
- Dates, deadlines and anything asking for a reply, pulled to the front
- A topic filter per group — set the class group to dates, forms, payments and skip the rest
- Every child's group in one message, each under its own heading
- In the language the parents actually write in
- Delivered in the evening, or whenever suits you
What happens to your messages
- Only the groups you choose are ever read
- Message content is encrypted and deleted within 24 hours
- Your digests are never stored
- Nothing is used to train an AI model
- Reply deletemydata to erase your account and everything in it
Questions
Can I follow more than one class group?
Yes — one digest covers every group you follow, so a parent with three children in three groups still gets one message a day.
Will it catch a message about tomorrow?
Dates and requests are exactly what the topic filter is for. Set the group's topics to dates, forms, payments and those are what the summary leads with.
Do other parents see anything?
No. Nothing is posted to the class group, and the digest goes to a private thread only you can see.
